The rules for using the app, collaborating with other users, and reporting problems.
These Terms of Use form a contract between you and the operator of Watch. By creating an account you accept these terms.
Watch is a private, non-commercial watchlist and release-tracking service. It is provided free of charge. There is no paid version, no subscription, and no advertising.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that this is the case.
You are responsible for the activity carried out through your account. Keep your credentials private and use accurate registration information.
You can close your account at any time from the account settings. Closing an account deletes your account and the content attached to it. Content you contributed to collaborative watchlists owned by other users may continue to exist there where a legitimate interest of the remaining members exists, and is then anonymised.
You may not use the service to harass or threaten other users, impersonate anyone, break applicable law, circumvent security or rate-limit controls, scrape or automate the service at scale, probe or test the service without written permission, or upload unlawful, abusive, infringing, or sexually exploitative content through usernames, notes, personal links, share messages, platform tags, or reaction labels.
The operator may suspend or remove access that threatens the integrity of the service or the safety of its users.
You retain all rights in the content you submit. By submitting content you grant the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, display and transmit that content strictly to the extent necessary to operate the service and to show the content to users you have chosen to share it with.
All rights in the application itself remain with the operator or its licensors.
In line with Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), any person can notify the operator of content they consider illegal. A notification should include the URL or identifier of the content, a sufficiently substantiated explanation of why it is believed to be illegal, the name and email address of the notifier (except where the content is suspected child sexual abuse material), and a statement confirming good faith.
Notifications can be submitted through the dedicated contact form or sent to the contact address published in the Legal Notice. The operator will process notifications without undue delay, in a diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner, and will inform the notifier and the affected user of the decision taken and of available remedies.
The service is designed for private use among friends and has no public chat, public watchlists, or other open surfaces at this time. Content moderation is carried out reactively, on the basis of reports received under the section above.
The service is provided on an as-available basis. Features may change, be paused, or be removed as the product evolves. Release dates, episode information, and other show metadata are provided partly by third parties and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate.
The operator is liable without limitation for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
For slight negligence the operator is liable only for the breach of material contractual obligations. In such cases liability is limited to damages typical for this kind of contract and reasonably foreseeable at the time of conclusion.
Any further liability is excluded. The service is provided free of charge; no warranty of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose is given beyond what is mandatory under German law.
You may terminate the agreement at any time by deleting your account. The operator may terminate the agreement, suspend access, or remove specific content where the user has materially breached these terms, where ordered to do so by a competent authority, or where operation of the service has become impossible.
In less serious cases the operator will issue a warning before terminating.
The operator may adapt these terms to reflect changes in the service or in applicable law. The current version is the one published on this page. Material changes will be announced in the app where technically possible and will only take effect after a reasonable notice period.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Where the user is a consumer habitually resident in another EU member state, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of that member state remain unaffected.
If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected.
